Lucia
In the public realm, Lucia invites visitors to bring an interactive story to life through a giant music box.
The concept by Anne Lagacé and Mirari tells the story of Lucia, a young dancer from Ravenna who dreams of travelling the world. As the handles are turned, her journey gradually unfolds, carried by an original musical composition performed by the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal.
To bring this vision to life, Jack World provided the technical design, fabrication, and installation of this custom creation. The challenge was to integrate the animation mechanisms while preserving the artistic vision imagined by the creators.
When several people turn the handles together, Lucia comes to life through a shared moment where each movement helps reveal her story.
