Shimmer time
In Vancouver, Shimmer Time transforms an everyday passage into an artwork inspired by the shifting movement of water during a SeaBus crossing.
Imagined by Aliya Orr, the artwork consists of a series of undulating metal panels covered with a holographic material. A programmed sequence animates the surface, evoking the changing reflections of water and creating an evolving visual effect throughout the day.
To bring this artwork to life, Jack World provided the technical design and fabrication. The project translated the artistic concept into a realizable structure while preserving the desired sense of lightness and refinement.
Shimmer Time invites passersby to slow down and notice a familiar passage in a new way.
